IWF 2024: A Record-Breaking Event for the Wood Industry

The 2024 International Woodworking Fair wrapped up last month with record-breaking numbers: almost 1,100 exhibitors filled the 1M+ square-foot footprint of the Georgia World Congress Center as an estimated 26,000 attendees from across the entire woodworking world gathered to see the latest and greatest in the business. Celebrating Excellence: Challengers Awards & Wooden Globe Awards IWF announced seven winners in the 2024 IWF Challengers Distinguished Achievement Award® competition. The winners were selected from 20 finalists, narrowed from a field of 92 entries from 75 exhibiting companies. Among the seven winners was WIA Member Northtech Machine LLC for iGlue by Northtech. 
The 2024 Wooden Globe Awards were presented by WIA during the "Night at the Tabernacle" event on Wednesday evening. These prestigious awards celebrate companies and individuals who have made significant contributions to the woodworking industry. Commitment to Excellence Through Technology Greyloch was recognized for its continuous investment in advanced woodworking machinery. The family-owned company, founded in 1991, has revolutionized custom cabinetry with its new 96,909 square foot automated facility in Star, Idaho. The award was accepted by Shaun Fickes, co-founder of Greyloch. 
Educator of the Year Mark Smith of Reed-Custer High School in Crestwood, Illinois, received this award for his dedication to educating the next generation of woodworkers. His curriculum introduces students to modern woodworking tools and techniques, offering valuable industry credentials and college credits.
